Glitter ball

I used this glitter ball on Sunday for a review game. The kids passed the ball around in a circle and when the music stopped they sang the next line. With the older ones we bounced it to each other and they were given one phone a friend if they didn't know the next line. These glitter balls are great. You can get them from Amazen Puzzles and Games for about $5.

Super Singer Award

This is an idea for a Super Singer award. You can buy them at $2 dollar stores in packets of about 6. I give one out each month to one of the kids that has been singing the best throughout the month.

Whiteboard Games

There are a few games you can play with a whiteboard:

-One that always goes down well is Pictionary. Two kids are given a board and try to get their teams to guess the song they are drawing.
- Guess that word: You send one of the children outside, write a word on the whiteboard that the kids can't sing and the child then comes in and has to try to guess the word they're not singing.

Well actually that's all I can think of for now. I'll add to it later if I think of more :)

Sticky Hand Game

This game was a hit. For the little ones I drew pictures that related to different parts of the song were learning (Beautiful Savior) and for the older ones I wrote out words and had some pictures. Then I would give two sticky hands out (usually boy verse girl) and we would sing the song. Then the music would stop randomly and they had to slap the right picture and have it stick to the sticky hand and into their hand. It was so much fun.

Valentines Day Post-it notes ♥

Happy Valentines :) Today we had a very special singing time. We reviewed the song 'The church of Jesus Christ' and as the children sang well I handed out love heart shape post it notes that I picked up from my local News agency. We went over the song over and over until the children seemed to be singing all the words perfectly. Once everyone had a heart, we all walked together to the Bishops office and quietly stuck the sticky heart notes all over his door. With the older kids I let them choose a car to stick hearts all over. The kids loved it.

2010!

Wow, it has been a while since I posted on here. Well, it is an exciting new year of Primary. Our songs for the year as follows:

Bon Bons- 13/12/09

Today was a very festive primary. To start I brought along all the christmas hats I have. Reindeers, Santa hats, elf hats, christmas hats etc and we all wore hats for singing time. Then I had christmas bon bons with songs in them, so I chose two children at a time to crack them open and we would sing the song inside. That was a lot of fun. One of the songs was 'Christmas bells' and when we sung it I got one of the children to shake some bells in time with the music and it was really effective. I also taught the oder girls the part that goes over the song and they sounded beautiful. Next week we will be singing for the Relief Society.
